Building Control Services

Overview

The building controls team is led by Don Pitmann. The team’s primary mission is to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient building control systems and equipment across the FSU campus.

What We Do

The building automation and controls engineering team maintains the Seimens Apogee system, which is the primary building automation system used on campus. The system currently has over 1,00,000 points for data collection or totalizing. In addition, we maintain 900+ meters that provide accurate, real time usage for electrical, chilled water, and steam. With the Apogee system, individual systems can be reviewed for problems. The system is used by the central control room to monitor the plant. From the control room, many of the systems can be remotely operated.
