Facilities Records & Archive

  • Campus Aerial Photographs

    The FSU Facilities Archive has a collection of campus aerial photographs that extend back to 2005. These images are primarily used for planning, reports, and presentations. PHOTO: Main Campus Aerial by Barry Gross, 2019.

  • Construction Documents

    Most of the Facilities Archive collection is comprised of construction documents and the accompanying documentation for campus projects. These documents were digitized and can be accessed by request. IMAGE: Dodd Hall was originally built as a library when FSU was a female college, 1923.

  • Campus Maps

    The Facilities Archive has a collection of FSU campus maps that show the development of the main campus over time. The oldest campus map is from 1930. IMAGE: East Campus Map, 1947.

  • Surveys & Reports

    The Archive has a collection of topographic and property surveys, as well as geotechnical and environmental assessment reports. IMAGE: Westcott Topographic Survey, 1971.

  • Building Key Plans

    A key plan is a scaled diagram of a building’s floor layout. The Facilities Archive has up-to-date and past key plans. IMAGE: Key plan for the Union’s Post Office Building, 2013.

Florida State University’s Facilities Records and Archive is responsible for:

  • The management and maintenance of construction and renovation documentation generated from FSU Facilities projects. This includes, but not limited to, key plans (floor plans), record documents, photographs, deeds, leases, agreements, studies, and facility programs.
  • The distribution of official campus maps.
  • The digitization of archival material and the indexing of electronic material.
