Central Utilities consists of the Central Utilities Plant located in the heart of campus, the Stadium Plant, and two satellite plants. We provide chilled water (25,930 ton-capacity) and steam (220,00 lb/h) to 135 buildings on and off campus. The boilers convert electricity and natural gas from the City of Tallahassee to steam, and the chillers convert it to chilled water for distribution to campus. The plants are interconnected and can accommodate future campus growth and adapt to changes in demand.
