The mechanical services team designs campus-wide distribution systems and piping for steam, chilled water, and process water used in industrial applications. Reliability is a key responsibility of the team as they design and supervise the maintenance of miles of underground piping that connects most buildings on Florida State’s main campus. The campus' central loop system allows for steam or water to be transferred to the point of use at the lowest possible cost. Additionally, mechanical services provides expertise to projects such as chiller additions, building HVAC modifications, building controls, and piping improvements, with a focus on energy conservation.
