The Mechanical Shop is responsible for maintaining the operation of all air handling units, laboratory exhaust fans, hot and chilled water pumps, condensate return systems, and sewage and effluent pumps on campus. The team ensures indoor air quality by replacing motors, fan shafts, and fan shaft bearings, replacing pump seals on water pumps, and performing preventive maintenance. They aim to minimize equipment downtime and ensure the ventilation of labs and other campus buildings. The team aims to enhance the condition of facilities by conducting thorough inspections and promptly repairing or replacing equipment parts. Additionally, they respond to emergencies and prioritize air handling units, laboratory exhaust fans, and water-circulating equipment to prevent potential flooding issues.
