The Controls Shop is responsible for maintaining the HVAC controls, essential for regulating the campus environment. They oversee the systems that control temperature, humidity, and air changes for all classrooms, offices, auditoriums, and laboratory spaces. Using Siemens Building Automation Systems (BAS), the Controls Shop manages field panels, end controllers, variable frequency drives, sensors, valve and damper actuators, and all associated wiring. Their role in maintaining auditorium spaces with unique performance needs and fume hoods that support research in laboratories across campus is essential for creating a conducive and safe environment for all.
