Facilities Announces New Organizational Structure

04/10/2024

Facilities is pleased to announce that it is transitioning to a new organizational structure. This change ensures that we continue to offer the best possible physical environment to our campus community by creating, maintaining, and operating our buildings, grounds, utility systems, and infrastructure. Facilities leadership has collaborated with human resources to design an organizational structure that will enable us to provide our campus partners with the highest quality of customer service.

This shift in organizational structure is an effort to streamline Facilities functions, improve overall efficiency, and align the various groups with strategic priorities. As reflected by the organizational chart below, select services within Facilities have been reorganized into a different reporting structure, while others remain unchanged.

Facilities Maintenance Director Joel Van Ravenswaay will oversee trade shops, zone maintenance, the central utilities plant, and utilities/engineering. Daniel Sheets will serve as Interim Director of Operations, a new group comprised of building services, waste management, fleet maintenance, master craftsman, and the elevator program. Business Operations is another new category encompassing our new operations center, information technology, financial services, human resources, change management, and data reporting. Elizabeth Swiman continues to lead the Sustainability, Communications, and Training groups. Grounds will contain landscape design and maintenance under the direction of Scott Cisson. Environmental Health & Safety remains under the guidance of Meg Sandy, with no modifications to reports.

Considering the new structure and workload demands, Facilities functions have been streamlined as part of the reorganization. We are proud to announce that Arnel Bacani has accepted the position of Associate Director of Property and Waste, overseeing fleet maintenance, waste management, and property. John Raulerson has accepted the position of Program Director of Master Craftsman Studio and exterior amenities.

As we transition to this new organizational structure, AVP for Facilities Mike Jednak is working with each group on improving service delivery as it aligns with the new reporting structure. Facilities will announce candidate searches for the Director of Operations and Director of Business Operations positions soon. We appreciate your support during this transition in pursuit of Building Excellence.
