Building Excellence: Union+ Maintenance

Welcome to Building Excellence! This feature spotlights a Facilities team recognized for going above and beyond to create, maintain, and manage Florida State University's physical environment.

The Union+ Maintenance Team maintains the buildings that empower and support students, such as the Student Union, Askew Student Life Center, The Globe, Student Services Building, and more!

Meet the team: Lee Groves - Maintenance Supervisor, Dillan Ly - Building Trades Technician, Mike Holmes - Maintenance Technician, Stephen Dyal - Controls Technician Team Lead, and James Mitchell - Maintenance Technician

The team brings diverse skills to the Union+ zone and is well-equipped to tackle any maintenance issue staff may present. Whether it is a routine inspection, emergency repair, system upgrades, or minor renovations, they are on the ground building excellence daily. The Student Union staff recently recognized the Union+ group for the improvements made in the Student Services Building (SSB), including door restoration, painting, and enhanced entryway aesthetics.

On the team's recent impact, Student Union Marketing Coordinator Cheryl Halle said, "Their dedication and expertise have made a significant impact on the ongoing projects at the SSB, as well as providing valuable insights for potential initiatives within the Union. Their contributions have exceeded expectations, and I am continually impressed by their professionalism and commitment to excellence."
