Facilities Financial Services plays a critical role in supporting the financial health and operational efficiency of FSU Facilities. By overseeing cost recovery, managing accounts receivable, and ensuring compliance with fiscal policies, this team helps sustain essential campus services and infrastructure. Adam Perkins stepped into his current role as Assistant Director of Budget & Finance within FSU University Business Administrators (UBA) at Facilities - a position he has held since January 10, 2025. With a total of seven years at FSU, Adam brings a strong background in financial management and institutional operations.

Perkins began his journey at FSU in August 2015, as a General Trades Technician in Facilities Maintenance, a role he held until December 2019. He then transitioned to the Program Associate position before moving into the Accounting Specialist role on the Facilities Financial Services team, followed by a promotion to Senior Accounting Specialist, where he remained until his current appointment in 2025.

Prior to his time at FSU, Perkins worked as a Production Manager at Pitney Bowes Management Services, where he managed mass mailing operations for various state agencies. He holds a high school diploma and gained extensive career experience in financial operations and administrative leadership throughout his career, resulting in upward professional growth.

In his current role, Perkins oversees utilities cost recovery and accounts receivable operations for the UBA within Facilities. He is responsible for developing and implementing essential business processes and policies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and university regulations. Perkins frequently consults with Facilities Directors on financial strategies, monitors operational finances, and contributes to projects aimed at improving systems and workflows. He works closely with the University Controller’s Office and the Budget Office to ensure accurate financial reporting and seamless operations.

His responsibilities also include hiring, training, and evaluating staff, as well as preparing financial reports for both internal use and external funding entities. Perkins manages complex audits, helps design rate structures for auxiliary enterprises, and ensures compliance with university policies and legal standards. Additionally, he plays a vital role in long-term financial planning and provides strategic guidance to Facilities leadership. A typical day for Perkins includes reviewing financial reports, supervising staff, coordinating audits, attending stakeholder meetings, and contributing to financial planning and policy development.

Perkins values the collaborative and supportive culture at FSU, citing its excellent benefits and growth opportunities. He finds fulfillment in contributing to the university’s mission by supporting education, research, and campus operations through sound financial management.

Outside of work, Perkins cherishes spending time with his 3-year-old son, who he describes as his world.
