In complex environments like higher education, where timelines, budgets, and stakeholder needs must align, the role of a Senior Project Manager is both visionary and practical. This individual ensures that conceptual ideas and technical requirements are unified, transforming projects into functional, lasting spaces that support the institution’s mission and growth. Since joining Planning, Design & Construction as a Senior Project Manager in October 2024, Jeremy Floyd has excelled in balancing these responsibilities.

Floyd brings over 15 years of experience in real estate development and landscape architecture, with a strong background in both public and private sector design and project management. Prior to his role at FSU, Floyd worked extensively as a real estate development and design consultant, where he led the planning and design of communities across the southeastern United States, including SouthWood, SummerCamp Beach, and several residential developments along Florida’s scenic Highway 30A.

From 2013 to 2023, Floyd served with the Tallahassee-Leon County Planning Department, where he built and led the award-winning DesignWorks team. During his tenure, he oversaw high-impact civic projects such as the new Tallahassee Police Department headquarters site and the Cascades mixed-use redevelopment, while also supporting private redevelopment efforts in Tallahassee’s downtown and CollegeTown neighborhoods.

Floyd holds both a Bachelor of Environmental Design and a Master of Science in Land Development from Texas A&M University. He obtained his Professional Landscape Architect license in 2007. In his current role at FSU, Floyd manages a broad range of construction, renovation, and repair projects, supporting Facilities staff and university stakeholders with strategic planning, design coordination, and project execution. His workdays are diverse and fast-paced, often involving job site visits, collaboration with design professionals, reviewing budgets, and developing creative solutions to complex challenges. What Floyd values most about his role at FSU is the collaborative team culture and the opportunity to tackle new and meaningful challenges each day.

Outside of work, he enjoys outdoor adventures with his wife and two children, including camping, long hikes, and going to the beach. Floyd and his wife, Rachel, recently celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary.
