Performs scheduled maintenance, testing, and repairs on university emergency power systems to ensure reliable operation during power outages and emergency situations. Maintains generators, automatic transfer switches, annunciator panels, diesel engines, battery chargers, cooling systems, fuel systems, and related components. Conducts required load testing in accordance with NFPA standards, performs routine servicing such as oil and filter changes, maintains emergency supplies, operates university vehicles, and performs related Facilities Maintenance duties.

Responsibilities

  • Performs scheduled maintenance and repairs on the University emergency power supply system. Ensures that all are operational by performing periodic tests on generators, automatic transfer switches, annunciator panels, and associated components. Conducts load test per NFPA requirements.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance and repairs on the University emergency supplies (primarily diesel cycle prime movers), including but not limited to, battery chargers, coolant flush, oil change, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, etc.
  • Maintains necessary supplies to handle emergency situations.
  • Operates University vehicles and performs other related work as required in support of Facilities Maintenance.
