Performs skilled tree care and campus grounds maintenance, including tree trimming, pruning, planting, removal, stump grinding, and related landscape activities, using chainsaws, bucket trucks, and other specialized equipment. Operates heavy equipment such as dump trucks, grapple trucks, cranes, loaders, excavators, tractors, and stump grinders to safely and efficiently complete tree and grounds projects. Maintains the safety, security, and condition of vehicles, tools, and equipment, reporting maintenance needs as required. Supports landscape renovations, site preparation, cleanup, and special Grounds projects to maintain a safe, clean, sustainable, and attractive campus environment.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for tree trimming, pruning, planting, and other aspects of tree care, potentially involving chainsaw operations, and operating from a bucket truck.
- Operates various specialized heavy equipment, including 2- ton dump truck, bucket trucks, grapple trucks, stump grinders, cranes, loaders, excavators, and tractors, for tree trimming, removal, and maintenance activities.
- Responsible for security, safety, and maintenance of all equipment, supplies, and vehicles. Ensures all manual and power equipment is in proper working condition and reports maintenance problems to the supervisor.
- Maintains a safe, clean, sustainable, and attractive landscaped environment for the students, faculty, and staff of our institution. Performs general groundskeeping maintenance tasks around buildings and on campus, including site preparation and cleanup. Assists with landscape renovations, Grounds projects, and other special duties as assigned by supervisor or higher authority.
