Performs grounds maintenance duties including mowing, edging, raking, mulching, weed removal, pruning, and watering to maintain clean and attractive campus landscapes. Assists with debris and trash removal, turf preparation, resodding, and planting of flowers, shrubs, and trees. Operates and maintains groundskeeping equipment safely, ensuring proper working condition and reporting maintenance issues as needed.
Responsibilities
- Performs groundskeeping tasks such as mowing, edging, raking, mulching, power blowing, weed eating, pulling weeds, light pruning, and watering plants. Responsible for debris removal, leaf removal, trash pickup, and other tasks to keep grounds clean and presentable. Maintains areas by spreading landscape materials such as pine straw, bark, or rocks.
- Prepares landscaped areas with soil excavation, turf removal, and resodding. Assists with landscaping tasks such as fertilizing, planting annual color, shrubs, and trees. Assists in maintaining turf areas by utilizing push mowers to ensure an attractively landscaped environment on campus.
- Safely operates and maintains grounds equipment to ensure the health and appearance of university grounds. Ensures that all manual and power equipment is in proper working condition and reports maintenance problems to the supervisor. Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor or higher authority.
