Installs and maintains locking and non-locking hardware, including electronic locks, panic devices, and door hardware. Performs keying, re-keying, master key systems, and lock fabrication. Uses computer systems for tracking keys and access, ensures compliance with life safety and university security policies, reads blueprints, and coordinates with project managers for new and renovated spaces.
Responsibilities

Performs the installation of locking and non-locking hardware consisting of and not limited to Electronic Hardware, Panic Devices, Mortise locks, Cylindrical Locks, Door Closers, Latch Guards, and Cam Locks.

Trade related skills. Able to re-key IC Core and Standard Pin Tumbler and Wafer locks. Master keying knowledge consisting of creating a Bitting Aray. Able to Impression Wafer locks.

Able to use computer skills to maintain and collect information for Master Key Systems and fabrication of keys by code. Issue forms for employees for Card Shop making Bar Codes for Facilities cards pertaining to Grainger purchases.

Hold to life safety codes and policy stated in guidelines for the University while maintaining the physical security on campus. This pertains to all locking devices.

Reads blueprints and understands fundamentals of of hardware and keying schedules. Work with Project Managers providing keys and cores/cylinders for new and renovated spaces.
