Collaborates with mechanical and electrical engineering teams to maintain and enhance the campus hydronic (Pipe Flow) model, supporting capacity expansion and improved distribution efficiency. Provides analytical support for building programming related to chilled water resources and utilities infrastructure. Oversees permitting and regulatory compliance, including FLDEP EAOR air permits, EPA GHG reporting, Environmental Resource Permits, and other required air and water permits. Conducts site reviews for electrical, chilled water, and steam systems, and maintains accurate utility system records by updating GIS and AutoCAD campus maps. Coordinates with Facilities Planning on the development of the campus utilities master plan. Manages the campus laboratory ACH reduction program, including engineering development, coordination with research departments, and implementation of efficiency measures, while also leading and supporting special projects as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Works with mechanical engineering team to maintain campus hydronic flow model (Pipe Flow) to develop options for adding system capacity and improving distribution efficiency. Assist mechanical engineering team with analysis for building programming chilled water resources.
- Responsible for permitting and compliance reporting for the following: FLDEP EAOR air permit and reporting, EPA GHG reporting, FLDEP Environmental Resource Permits, and any other air or water resource permits required for the University's utilities.
- Assist mechanical and electrical engineering teams with site review for electrical & chilled water, and steam.
- Updates chilled water, steam, and electrical system changes to the FSU campus map (both GIS and AutoCAD versions). Coordinates with Facilities Planning to develop the utilities master plan.
- Manages the campus lab ACH reduction program which includes engineering development, coordinating research departments and implementation of plans. Other duties as assigned, including overseeing special projects for the department.
