Recyclemania is a national competition between college and university recycling programs. The program lasts for 10 weeks. During that period, schools report recycling data and the results are compared. It has become an annual event on the FSU campus and is organized by the FSU Sustainable Campus Initiative.

For 2010, FSU has chosen to compete for the Gorilla Prize. The Gorilla Prize goes to the school that recycles the highest gross tonnage of combined paper, corrugated cardboard, bottles and cans during the contest period. Results are updated daily (weekdays only) throughout the contest period.

For 2010, the FSU effort was in the the top 29% of all schools in the United States that competed for the Gorilla prize category. We received an overall ranking of 98.
