F & A 2007 AwardsFacilities employees stood out among the top honorees at the Finance and Administration 16th Annual Employee Awards and Recognition Program held on June 5, 2007, in Miller Hall. The event was hosted by Anse Cates, Chair of the Employee Awards Committee, and awards were presented by John Carnaghi, Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration. It was fun-filled event that included lunch and the auctioning a flat screen television. Lori Pinkerton (left) and Clifford Jones (right)Lori Pinkerton (left) accepts the Gabor Award for outstanding service and contribution to the University. Lori played a vital role in the renaming of many University streets; a measure to increase the response time of emergency personnel. Lori also discovered a budgetary shortfall by the legislature of over $1 million dollars used to fund the Magnetic Laboratory Plant Operation and Maintenance fund. Clifford Jones (right) of Building Services receives recognition for his 25 years of service to the University. H3 - Alfred Gainous (left) and Catherine Johnson (right)Alfred Gainous (left) receives recognition for 40 years of service to the University. Catherine Johnson (right) accepts the Ambassador Award. The Ambassador Award recognizes an employee who consistently exhibits a friendly and positive image for the division or through sustained voluntary service promotes the welfare of others in the department, University or community. Gail Jackson (left) and Susan Barrett (right)Gail Jackson (left) and Susan Barrett (right) accept the Silent Service Award. The Silent Service Award category received the most nominations this year. Gail and Susan were selected among the winners for their superior work performance, while exemplifying a positive and cooperative attitude on a day to day “behind the scenes” basis without being showy or spotlighted. Eric Lahtinen (left) and Sue Rice (right)Eric Lahtinen (left) was also recognized as a Silent Service Award winner. Sue Rice (right) received the PEP Award. She was honored for her positive attitude and demonstrated performance. Sue has dedicated 30years of service to the University in a wide scope of responsibilities that have always involved helping employees. Sue always has a smile on her face and takes on each new challenge eagerly.
